Educational Objectives: Understand the treatment plan for partially and totally edentulous patients
Materials needed: Loupes are optional
This program will discuss components for the treatment of both the partially and totally edentulous patient. The course will include a hands-on component where the participants will be able to place abutments and impression copings. An impression showing both the open and closed tray concept will be made.
Dr. Blackwell received his dental degree from the University of Illinois, College of Dentistry. He completed his General Practice Residency at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Blackwell is affiliated with the ADA, AGD, AO, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, as well as many other professional societies. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, American Society of Osseointegration and International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Blackwell is also a fellow member of the International College of Dentists, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Academy of General Dentistry. He was Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program, and is currently Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He also is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Saint Louis University and the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Blackwell maintains a private practice of restorative dentistry in Decatur, IL, of which 50% involves the restoration of dental implants
