MISSOURI RIVER IRISH FEST
The Missouri River Irish Fest is produced by the Irish Chapter of the St. Charles Sister Cities Programs. The festival is held the 3rd weekend of September as a sort of "Half way to St. Patrick's Day" celebration. This year we will be celebrating our 4th annual event on September 19th, 20th and 21st. Entertainment includes a main stage and a session stage with continuous events throughout the day, such as music, dance, and storytelling. Visit moriveririshfest.com for more information.

MOSAICS - FESTIVAL FOR THE ARTS
A major arts festival that brings renowned artists from across the States to exhibit and sell their artwork. 125 artists - paintings, sculpture, photography, metalwork, wearable art, clay and fine arts; including jewelry, glass, and fiber. Enjoy outstanding musical groups at performing stages, unique hands on activities in the Children's Village, Artists Demonstration Stage, and "Mentor Me" art exhibition from area schools' students & teachers at the Foundry Art Centre. LEWIS AND CLARK BOAT HOUSE AND NATURE CENTER
The Lewis & Clark Boat House and Nature Center is the Discovery Expedition's permanent home. Situated beside the Missouri River at Bishop's Landing in charming historic St. Charles, Missouri, the educational facility features exhibits relating to the Lewis and Clark expedition as well as the Missouri River ecosystem. The museum tour is self-guided. Visitors receive an informational brochure that includes activities for all ages. Visitors get a feel for old St. Charles with four half-scale buildings showing architectural styles of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. FIRST MISSOURI STATE CAPITOL HISTORIC SITE
Missouri's first legislators met in the buildings of the First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site to undertake the task of reorganizing Missouri's territorial government into a progressive state system. From June 4,1821, to Oct. 1,1826, heated debates of state's rights and slavery filled the rooms of the temporary Capitol. Visitors can take a guided tour through the actual restored and furnished rooms where Missouri state government was created and first practiced. The restored Peck brothers' general store and residence have been furnished as they might have looked in the early 1800s. Guided tours are offered every hour Monday through Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. and ending with the 3 p.m. tour. Adults $2.50, 12 and under $1.5o. For more information call 636-940-3322.
